Auto taps FAQ

Products > Automatic taps

How easy are these taps to install?
These taps are just as easy to install as a convential monoblock tap.  As they are powered by batteries, they require no additional wiring or services.  Unlike many other automatic taps on the market, our taps are completely self contained with no external solenoid box.

How much water do they save?
An automatic tap can save about 2.3 litres (0.5 gallons) of water each time.  In a commercial or public washroom, the water savings are vast.  In a domestic enviroment too, large water savings can be made.  Leaving the tap running while brushing your teeth wastes about 3.2 litres (0.7 gallons) of water.

How long do the batteries last?
Using good quality alkaline AA 1.5V batteries, they would last up to 2 years with normal use.  The tap requires four AA batteries, which are not included.

What do you get in the box?
The single flow taps comes with a 15mm flexible hose.  The dual flow taps comes with two 10mm flexible hoses.  You just need to provide the batteries.

How do I replace the batteries?
The AH209SF & AH22-DFM models have an external battery pack.  This is fitted below the tap body and is therefore normally hidden behind the sink.  The battery pack has a jack plug type connector which allows you to remove the battery pack to replace the batteries easily.

The AH210SF & AH222DFM models have a removable top and the battery pack is within the tap body.  These batteries can therefore be replaced from above.  This makes these taps possibly unsuitable for some commercial applications were a tamperproof design is required.
